  • From Colombo to Kandy and through Ramboda pass to Nuwara Eliya.



  • Colombo to Awissawella and at Awissawella turn off to Hatton and reach Nuwara Eliya.



  • For those who travel from down south of the island, one can reach Nuwara Eliya from Matara , via Yala, Ella, Wellawaya, Bandarawela, Welimada and finally to Nuwara Eliya.



  • For those who travel to Nuwara Eliya from the Central Province, start off from Kandy through Randenigala to Walapane, and then on to Kandapola and Nuwara Eliya.



  • Another route is from Badulla in the Uva Province, travel to Bandarawela and then on to Welimada and Nuwara Eliya.




BY RAIL

train

The Udarata Menike upcountry train made its maiden journey in April 1956 from Colombo to Badulla and takes about 10 hours to reach Badulla covering about 292 KM. This is one of the most famous train journeys in the world due to the panoramic views one can see during this journey.


SEA PLANE
